I was born in Istanbul and completed my secondary education at Saint-Joseph French High School (Moda). I pursued my legal education in Germany and graduated from Hannover University Faculty of Law. I subsequently obtained an LL.M. in European and Commercial Law from Paris Cergy-Pontoise University.
Following the completion of my equivalency process in Türkiye, I was admitted to the Istanbul Bar and have since been actively practicing law, with a particular focus on aviation law, international commercial law, and corporate law.
At the early stage of my career, I worked at Baker & McKenzie, where I gained substantial experience in cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), international commercial agreements, and complex corporate structuring. Advising multinational clients enabled me to develop a strong foundation in managing sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional legal projects.
I later served as General Counsel of Corendon Airlines, where I was responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of airline operations. My practice was heavily focused on aircraft acquisition and leasing transactions, including wet lease, dry lease, and ACMI structures, as well as regulatory compliance and international aviation matters.
In this capacity, I successfully negotiated and concluded long-term financial lease agreements with leading global aircraft lessors, including SMBC Aviation Capital, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), Air Lease Corporation (ALC), Avolon, Aircastle LLC, CDB Aviation, Jackson Square Aviation, and Starling Aviation Capital (DAL Group). I managed the full lifecycle of these transactions — from commercial negotiations and drafting to delivery, acceptance, escrow arrangements, title transfer, insurance structuring, regulatory compliance, and fleet induction — ensuring the seamless integration of the aircraft into the airline’s operational fleet.
In addition to aircraft leasing, I have been directly involved in aircraft purchase transactions and in the acquisition and leasing of aircraft engines, including CFM International, IAE, and Rolls-Royce platforms. I have also structured and negotiated international spare parts supply agreements for airline operators. My work in these transactions covered title and lien due diligence, maintenance reserve frameworks, redelivery conditions, airworthiness compliance, and risk allocation mechanisms.
Beyond the legal structuring of transactions, I have developed a strong and trusted international network within the global aviation ecosystem. I maintain close professional relationships with senior airline executives, aircraft lessors, brokers, MRO providers, technical service organizations, and aviation-focused investment stakeholders. This network allows me to provide not only legal counsel but also strategic and commercially aligned solutions in fleet expansion and aviation asset transactions.
Today, I continue to advise clients on aircraft acquisition and leasing, cross-border aviation transactions, international commercial structuring, and corporate matters. My approach combines legal precision with operational awareness and commercial pragmatism.
I am a native Turkish speaker and fluent in English, German, and French, enabling me to operate effectively in complex international environments and multi-jurisdictional transactions.
